2007 Sydney Underground Film Festival: Official Lineup

The first ever Sydney Underground Film Festival is going to be held on Sept. 7-10. Congrats to filmmaker Stefan Popescu (Roseberry 7470) for launching this impressive new voice in the underground film scene. This is going to be a mostly shorts-only event: three nights packed with outrageous shorts, then capped by the sole feature-length film on the last night. What’s that going to be? You can find out below.

However, before we get to that (can you dig the suspense?), two program notes. First, superstar underground animator Martha Colburn will be screening several different films throughout the fest. Smart move. She’s awesome. I’ve linked her name to her official site in the list below so you can spot them easily. I watched one of the shorts, Destiny Manifesto, online when it played at Sundance this year. It’s not available anymore, but my writeup/review is here. The second program note is that several of David Lynch’s shorts are screening throughout the fest, too. You know who he is.
