Toronto’s Images Festival is having its 22nd year with films by Marisa Olson, Penny Lane, Karl Lemieux, Leslie Supnet and many other experimental filmmakers.

The WNDX Festival of Film and Video Art is screening films by Brett Kashmere, Clint Enns and Leslie Supnet, plus hosting a curated event by Cinema Abattoir.

“Underground Film, Into the Light: Two Sides of the Projected Image in American Art, 1945-1975″ by Bruce Kashmere is a nice little overview of the American avant garde film movement, mostly about the merging of filmmaking and traditional art. The 14th annual Chicago Underground Film Festival will be screening film Random Lunacy, plus films by Usama Alshaibi, Andrew Semans, James Fotopoulos and more.

This year the PDX Film Festival, which is run by Peripheral Produce distributors, will roll out films by Vanessa Renwick, James Fotopoulos and Brett Kashmere.

The WNDX Underground Film Festival is a three-day event in Winnipeg, Canada of terrific short films, including ones by Mike Rollo and Brett Kashmere.
